Victory

Well this is turning out to be one of the best test series i can remeber. At the wanderers today england continue to amaze me with their ability to come back from the dead. south africa will be back and up for the fight at centurion park i'm sure. however england are the winners here and vaughan has joined the party both with the batting with good knocks are vital times and his captaince has be justified with victory. strauss again in top form in the first innings and hoggard with a magical 7 for. the bowling has to be muched inproved in the next test........but for now lets enjoy the victory

4th test view

well michael vaughan has at last come to the party with an edgey but never he less vital 82. harmison chipping in with some runs. however, harmison's bowling has been poor to say the least and after a superb year more is expected and needed if england are to continue to improve and become a force in test cricket.

Vaughan's form

England's skipper michael vaughan has to produce the goods with the bat soon, as he can't keep clinging to his sucess as captain. it has been a great time to be captain and although i'm not sure how much of the sucess is down to his leadership ability we have to give some credit to the man. some of the sucess of course has been a result of the quality of the opposion but in the main the performance of strauss, key and trescothick with the bat and harmison, jones and hoggard with the ball has been more of an influence perhaps. of course flintoff with both ball and bat, not to mention slip fielding has played a part. more though with the media than actully on the pitch at times. as awhole the team has perfomed well except vaughan. how long can he stay in the team without scoring runs? the presure's on and england need a good and well like (by players) captain but at what cost? can england afford to be a batter down? come on michael prove me wrong, win the toss, bat and hit a big ton or better still two. S.A. are going to be keen to capitalised on the performance of both themselfs and that of england in the last test. this is proving to be an interesting series, lets hope the drama and good cricket continues....oh and england win as well!

S.A. Victorious

well s.a. mopped up the last of the english batters to claim the test and level the series 1-1. They deserve it for their sensible batting while vaughan and his men looked to surrender their wickets at the first oportunity. The next test has to see a more improved performance and possibly the winning of the toss! Personnel change i don't think it would be a good ploy except if the pitch suited it , Anderson in for S. Jones maybe.

just check the bbc weather forcast for Cape Town and guess what rain is forcated ............. some time this year. no hope of rain in the next couple of days. get digging them trenches boys, and dig deep!

On the Brink

England seem to be on the brink of defeat!!, or can this team prove ever more depth and increase the praise that has been heaped on them in the last 12 months a battle it out and clinch a draw? i can only hope. it looks like this could be 1-1 in the seires, no chance of rain in west provence?

Follow on!

England at this moment are stairing at the follow on. It seems this team is determined to do thing the hard way. credit south africa with sensible batting on a good pitch but England seem determined to go around the houses. the draw is englands best option. a repeat performance of the 2nd innings in Durban....... and then some!
Come on boys pull your finger out, lets not let them square the series.

Butcher/Bell/Keys?

less than 24 hours away from the third test at newlands, do england persvere with butcher or give keys or bell a chance. both performed well when given the chance in the past twelve months. i've not seen much of bell but keys with that big 200 and odd last year should perhaps get the nod in my opinion.
